Improving Your Infectious Disease Screening

ASR Tropical Disease Products

Flavivirus’ are a subset of the family of viral agents capable of causing encephalitis and jaundice1. Most flaviviruses are arboviruses and transmitted to the human population by a bite from infected mosquitoes or ticks.

The Genetic Signatures ASR Flavivirus/Alphavirus Detection Reagents has been designed to provide rapid and accurate detection of 17 species including Pan-flavivirus, Pan-alphavirus and Pan-dengue as detailed below.

The reagents are grouped such that a specific secondary typing assay can be selected and performed once the initial Flavivirus, Alphavirus, Dengue virus identification has occurred using the screening kit.

The reagents also include both an Extraction Control and an Internal Positive Control for each sample to ensure the quality of the extracted DNA and to detect the presence of any inhibitors, respectively.
