The problem: O&P microscopy is slow, complex, and inaccurate
Microscopy-based ova and parasite examinations are time-consuming, complex, and reliant on highly trained staff and often detect fewer than 50% of gastrointestinal infections from a single patient sample.
Due to the sporadic shedding of parasite cysts in stool, reliable results often require multiple patient samples collected on different days.
