Improving Your Infectious Disease Screening

EasyScreen™ Tropical Diseases products

Flavivirus’ are a subset of the family of viral agents capable of causing encephalitis and jaundice1. Most flaviviruses are arboviruses and transmitted to the human population by a bite from infected mosquitoes or ticks.

The Genetic Signatures EasyScreen™ Flavivirus/Alphavirus Detection Kits (FA001) have been designed to provide rapid and accurate detection of 17 species including Pan-flavivirus, Pan-alphavirus and Pan-dengue as detailed in the Tables below.

The kits are grouped such that a specific secondary typing assay can be selected and performed once the initial Flavivirus, Alphavirus, Dengue virus identification has occurred using the screening kit.

The kits also include both an Extraction Control and an Internal Positive Control for each sample to ensure the quality of the extracted DNA and to detect the presence of any inhibitors, respectively.

Regulatory

  • The EasyScreenTM Flavivirus/Alphavirus Detection Kit (FA001) and secondary reflex and typing kits (FA002, FA003 and FA004) are for research use only.
  • Positive controls are not provided for the Flavirus and Alphavirus Reflex Detection Kits.
  • No commercially quantified positive targets are available for MVEV, BFV and ONNV. Therefore, sensitivity performance is not established for these products.
