Systems Integration Engineer – Process

We are seeking a solutions focused Systems Integration Engineer – Process, to join our dynamic Systems Integration team. This role plays a key part in gathering and documenting requirements for workflows (reagents, software and hardware) in our development pipeline, enabling Genetic Signatures to bring its innovative molecular diagnostic technology to customers, driving better patient care

We are an Australian based manufacturer selling into leading pathology laboratories in Australia, and distributing worldwide, and are looking to expand our diverse, supportive and talented team.
We are now seeking a solutions focused Systems Integration Engineer – Process, to join our dynamic Systems Integration team. This role plays a key part in gathering and documenting requirements for workflows (reagents, software and hardware) in our development pipeline, enabling Genetic Signatures to bring its innovative molecular diagnostic technology to customers, driving better patient care and outcomes.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Gather requirements through drafting product requirements from customer requirements (inclusive of workflow, reagents, hardware and software requirement.
- Author and/or review software requirement specifications or technical requirement specifications
- Design and generate traceability matrix for requirements and test cases for the system
- Act as technical contact for internal/external customers and suppliers during product development.
- Consult with external design engineers (internal and/or OEM vendors) to understand system functionality and coordinate the implementation of requirements and design specifications.
- Review test cases authored by other development experts to verify requirements
- Understand business needs and identify necessary integrations between different systems, analysing data formats and functionalities to design and test integration solutions.
- Initiate, coordinate and or execute activity for test campaigns to verify requirements and design specifications and ensure conformance to intended use of products.
- Collect, analyse, and develop report packages to support system verification and validations.
- Initiate &/coordinate and conduct reliability analysis, testability analysis, software reliability, fault tolerance, and system stress analysis on instrument systems that run diagnostic assays.
- Review and/or develop detailed Failure Modes and Effects Analysis of systems with the ability to assess critical to quality elements.
To be successful as our process-oriented Systems Integration Engineer – Process, you will possess talent in:
- Molecular biology including real time PCR
- Engineering or validation for IVDs or other regulated products
- Software, product, process or equipment validation
- Requirements management software
- Process- and solution-oriented mindset
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starting with ability to work both independently and in a team
You will also hold a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or related field (master’s or PhD advantageous).
It is advantageous if you are experienced in the validation of products / services in the diagnostics / life sciences marketplace/s and have an understanding of methylation field.
